the Machinjauri Maritime School of LLC provides an adapted environment for teaching vocational students with disabilities (PWDs) / special educational needs (SEN). Vocational instructors are knowledgeable about teaching methods for students with disabilities (PWDs/SEN).

The development of an individualized study plan for vocational students with disabilities is based on the specific needs and requirements of the students.

The individualized study plan is developed considering the needs of PWDs/SEN, with the involvement of the Department’s Quality Assurance Service, vocational instructors, and specialists in inclusive education. Vocational students may participate in the process of designing their individualized schedule.

The developed individualized study plan is approved by the director of the lyceum.

In accordance with current legislation, to ensure the participation of persons with disabilities and special educational needs in vocational education programs, such individuals are allowed to enroll in modules without fulfilling the module prerequisites.

The training of students with disabilities (PWDs) for the profession of seafarer is not permitted.
Training may only be conducted following a special medical examination and confirmation of health status. The requirement for a medical examination is due to the specific conditions of work on maritime fleet vessels and is regulated in accordance with both Georgian legislation and international maritime regulations, including the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, 1978, Manila Amendments (Consolidated Text) Regulation I/9; section B-I/9; Table B-I/9-1; Table B-I/9-2; and the Order No. 01 of 26 February 2014 by the Director of the Maritime Transport Agency of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, “On Approving Standards for Seafarers’ Health Status.”
