On February 25,2026, an event dedicated to the Day of Soviet Occupation was held — a date that had a decisive impact on the state development of Georgia. On February 25, 1921, the occupation of Tbilisi by the Red Army brought an end to the existence of the Democratic Republic of Georgia.
The aim of the event was to strengthen historical memory, promote an understanding of the values of freedom and independence, and honor the memory of those who fought for the country’s liberty.
The program included thematic presentations, a review of archival materials, a literary and musical composition, and an interactive discussion.
The event was led by history teacher Nino Samkharadze and Georgian language and literature teacher Mzevinar Tsulukidze.
