On May 4, 2026, International Sun Day was celebrated at Makhinjauri Maritime School with the active participation of 11th-grade students.

As part of the event, a presentation was held on the topic: “The Sun – A Source of Life and Energy on Earth: Power, Prospects, and Challenges.” Students presented thematic posters and discussed the importance of using solar energy and its potential in the future.

The activities aimed to raise students’ awareness of the importance of renewable energy sources.

The event was initiated and organized by the school’s Geography teacher, Sopio Nemsadze.
