On February 20-24, 2023, a week dedicated to the occupation day was planned at the Makhinjauri Maritime Lyceum.

As part of the events, on February 20, documentary material was shown to students.

Within the event, on February 21, students presented their prepared presentations. A wall newspaper was also prepared.

On February 23, the week was summarized with a lecture-seminar.

On February 24, students attended the lecture-seminar of historian Otar Gogolishvili in connection with the occupation day.

The week named "February 25, 1921 - Annexation of Georgia" was organized by the integrated department of social sciences, Georgian language and literature and foreign languages of the educational institution in Makhinjauri Maritime Lyceum.

On February 25, 1921, Tbilisi was occupied by the 11th Red Army. Georgia became part of the Russian Soviet Empire. The loss of independence was followed by brutal repression, banning of political parties, execution of thousands of people, long imprisonment and exile. The Soviet occupation, which began on February 25, lasted for seventy years.
